“The inception of this anthology came from a place of fury. A visceral and primal sense of anger toward those in the Supreme Court who began a process that strips women of their fundamental human rights. But then came something else. A profound sense of the power we have as romance authors. We are not easily silenced. And when pissed off, the romance industry is a force to be reckoned with. We are a force to be reckoned with. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Historically, this term is used as a derogative toward women, cautioning us against anger, lest we seem harsh, abrasive … crazy. When in reality, angry women are not impulsive, unhinged or ‘unfeminine’ … they are powerful. And the powers that be have always been afraid of powerful women. This beautiful industry has always been about rebelling. Rebelling against a patriarchal society who views sex as an act of pleasure for men and merely procreation for women. Rebelling against gatekeepers trying to tell us who should speak and who should stay quiet, what our roles should be, what’s ‘appropriate’ and what’s ‘taboo. ’The romance industry is a place of freedom. The romance industry is a safe place for people to explore their sexuality, to unpack trauma, to know there is always a HEA, to know they are never judged, never shamed, always accepted, to know that the heroine has agency, autonomy. That voice, that autonomy and that agency is being threatened by those who think that a woman’s body is a place for political posturing, by those who want to take away our voices. Abortion is not a dirty word. Abortion is healthcare. Abortion is a life-saving medical procedure. Abortion is a choice that every single woman has a right to. Our bodies are not political. Our rights are not negotiable. Our choices are ours and ours alone. Hell Hath No Fury is a collection of stories from over forty authors who believe that our bodies are and always”
